I’m the author of two previous books including, most recently, Unleashed: Climbing Canines, Hiking Hounds, Fishing Fidos, and Other Daring Dogs. I’m also a contributing editor and blogger for The Bark magazine and former pets columnist for NWSource.com. I’ve been a freelance writer for nearly 10 years, but I also write about bipeds, politics and architecture. (If you want to know more about that side of my life, especially you editors out there, please view my clips, etc., at lisawogan.com.) I live in Seattle with my husband, Charlie, and our two dogs, Renzo and Lulu. All three are allergic to cats.

Photographer, collaborator and friend Bev Sparks took all the fantastic images in Dog Park Wisdom (a few of which anchor the pages of this blog) and the majority of the photos in Unleashed. I like to say that Bev is so good at snapping dogs because she’s as sparky (her nickname) as a puppy and as wily as an old stray. But don’t take my word for it, her photography is used by ad agencies and greeting card companies, appears in magazines and books, including Busy Doggies, and was recently featured on the Oprah Winfrey Show.
